Texas Department of Criminal Justice Volunteer Training
A Kairos volunteer may serve 1 Kairos Weekend ( Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and following Saturday 1/2 day Instructional) without any TDCJ training. To be able to return into the Unit for Prayer and Share meetings or monthly Reunions, all new volunteers are required to participate in an initial, on-site training session in order to become an approved volunteer.
We recommend taking this 1/2 day course as soon as possible as it can take some time after you complete this class until the Unit has official verification and can enter you onto the gate list of approved volunteers. Please speak to the Unit Kairos Liaison about this process.
This training is good for 2 years. Then an online refresher course may be completed for an additional 2 years.
